Home for the Holidays

A guest lifestyle post by Finding Beautiful Truth.
This time of the year leaves me feeling a little frazzled. I love all the excitement that comes with the holiday season, but sometimes the chaos gets distracting.
Without fail, I always forget to pack something important when I head home for Thanksgiving. This year, I’ve made a list (and I’ll be checking it twice!). I refuse to leave these things behind:
Large pouch: It’s the best way to keep your carry-on luggage organized. I like to store larger sized items like travel toiletries, headphones or snacks inside.
Medium pouch: This size is ideal for makeup or jewelry. I like to keep this pouch inside my purse if I have room.
Cozy beanie: I ALWAYS like to bring a cozy beanie when I travel. It’ll keep me warm both on the plane and when I arrive at my destination.
Wool coat: There’s really no reason to pack multiple coats so I like to wear one heavier coat on the plane. This frees up space in my luggage and ensures that I stay toasty between points A and B.
Statement glasses: I like to wear my glasses when I travel, and a bright pair doubles as a statement making accessory.
Red lipstick: A bright shade of lipstick never fails to pack a punch. Plus, it’s the holiday season–red is a must!
Mascara: Even if I’m not wearing any other makeup, I always like to enhance my lashes. This mascara by Benefit Cosmetics is my current favorite.
Large leather tote: I recently purchased Madewell’s Transport Tote and have been carrying it everywhere. It’s versatile, beautifully constructed and feels just a little bit trendy.
Boots for walking: Without fail, a 3″ heel is my sweet spot. It offers just the right amount of height while providing the comfort I need to play tourist.
Warm mittens: Since my hands are the first thing to get cold, I never forget to pack a colorful pair of mittens. It’s also a fun addition to any holiday themed outfit.
Wool socks: Last winter I discovered the joys of wearing Smartwool socks. Guys, they keep your feet SO stinking warm.
What’s on your packing list? Do tell!
